About Us
Kathmandu Village is a proposed small community in the suburbs of Washington DC.
The idea of this village emerged in 2014 and then took shape in 2018. A like minded group of people who are empty nested or going to be empty nested soon, decided to set up a complete neighborhood where all of the members of community will enjoy mutual support, care, outdoor activities and different social connections. In April 2019 a Kathmandu Village LLC was set up and the property was acquired on Tuesday, April 23, 2019.
Our Project
The proposed community is a single parcel with the address of 1705 Ritchie Rd, District Heights, MD
20747. We are proposing 30 detached home lots with average 10,000 Sq Feet area. On top of that, there
will be one community hall and open space. The current number of lots is only proposed to the county
and may be varied after the county’s review and approval. Photo below is the proposed preliminary plan of

History
One day in 2014 at an informal gathering, a low pitch voice was raised, and the imagination of the
community was floored. The discussion took place at different places and stages. Some people who were
at the beginning stage left the group and some other new joined. This process was continued until April
2019. Finally, in April 2019, a like minded group of 18 families agreed to set up the company and registered in
the state of Maryland. The property was acquired on Tuesday, April 23, 2019.
